What is "KALB's PET Project"?    It's a local school-based plastic bottle (PET) recycling contest.  Students are encouraged to find creative ways to collect the most PET and PETE (#1 and #2) plastic bottles per capita than other participating schools.  The goal of the program is to prevent as many plastic bottles as possible from entering our landfills.

What's in it for the Schools?   There will be cash prizes for the top three collecting schools in the amounts of $500, $300, and $100.  Cash prizes have been provided by the Limestone County Commission.  There will also be Pizza parties for students groups as determined by contest rules.  Funding for these parties has been provided by Custom Polymers.  We thank our generous supporters.

How Can I Help the Schools?   Seven Schools in Athens and Limestone County are participating.  Choose one or more schools to support by saving your #1 and #2 plastic at home, at work, and at play.  They need your help!!!  Send the plastic in with a student, or drop the plastic off in the collection cage located at each participating school.
