Additional “funny money” will be available for purchase at the event, with all proceeds going to Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful.
This fundraiser will help support Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful in all aspects of our organization. It is our mission is to empower the citizens of Athens and Limestone County to take greater responsibility in enhancing their local environment. The KALB organization sponsors a variety of programs that emphasize litter awareness and control, community recycling, and beautification through education and volunteer opportunities. Through the work of the KALB Commission, KALB reaches out to the community through education, community action, volunteer opportunities, and the partnership with the Limestone County Commission Recycling Program.
Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful is responsible from removing 171,072 pounds of litter from public roadsides and waterways in the past five years alone. We are also responsible for hosting 5 successful Household Hazardous Waste Collections in Limestone County. This is a much needed service, and we hope to expand those services in the future.
Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful is currently modernizing their approach to education. We will soon offer a mobile planetarium with environmental education programs to ALL schools in Limestone County, FREE of charge! We are also establishing a youth commission group to help expand our reach into the community. We are excited to grow and change, and we hope that we can count on your support!
